About Us

The Deaf Founders Network (DFN) is a flagship initiative of the Deaf-in-Tech, designed to build a continent-wide support ecosystem for Deaf entrepreneurs. Recognizing that economic empowerment and inclusive innovation are essential for a fair and thriving society, DFN seeks to create a platform where Deaf business leaders across Africa can connect, collaborate, and grow.

Across Africa and globally, Deaf individuals are launching powerful ventures—from small businesses and cooperatives to digital startups and social enterprises. Despite their potential and resilience, many of these founders face exclusion from mainstream entrepreneurial ecosystems due to communication barriers, limited access to inclusive training, underrepresentation, and lack of visibility. The Deaf Founders Network exists to correct this imbalance.
