Mr. Afolayan Muyiwa Timothy
Mr. Afolayan Muyiwa Timothy is a renowned Teacher (Special Educator),Educational Manager and an advocate for equal and inclusive education opportunities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Educational Management from the University of Ilorin and, subsequently, a Master’s in Special Education at the University of Ibadan.
He is a member of the disability movement, championing disability inclusion, equality, and equity.
As a Deaf person, his primary language is Sign Language and a prominent of Sign Language as Universal Language. He has publication credited to his name titled, “Nigerian Sign Language and Mother Tongue:What We Need to Know”, in the Special Educator Journal( 2011). He taught English language to Deaf Learners in WAEC/NECO preparatory classes for 17 years under Kwara State Ministry of Education and is currently working as Education Officer in the Department of Educational Planning Research and Development, Federal Ministry of Education,
Headquarters, Abuja.
Mr. Afolayan dedicates his efforts in enhancing educational opportunities and support for vulnerable groups, fostering an educational environment that embraces diversity and ensures equal access for all. He is married with Children.
