About Me

Mrs. Bernice Oyeleke

Mrs. Bernice Oyeleke is a doctoral researcher at Gallaudet University, the world’s only bilingual university dedicated to Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Her research focuses on early language intervention and education for young deaf children and their families. She is actively involved in studies on young deaf children and their families across Africa and North America. 

As the founder of the Luminous Deaf Scholastic Initiative (LUDESI), she established the first National Literary Competition for Deaf students in higher education in Nigeria. A recipient of multiple national and international awards, she was honored with the prestigious 2020 Her Ability Award in the Health and Education category by Light for the World, Austria.
